In Wednesday's non-league test, the Apollo Ridge Vikings (Spring Church, PA) basketball squad trounced the visiting St. Joseph Spartans (Natrona Heights, PA), by a score of 59-38.

Next, the Vikings encounter the Steel Valley Ironmen (Munhall, PA) in a WPIAL 3A 3 test, on Thursday, December 19. Apollo Ridge will attempt to improve on its 2-5 season record. The Ironmen come into the test with a 2-6 record after their 67-47 non-league loss to Thomas Jefferson (Jefferson Hills, PA).

The Spartans (2-3) will now prepare for their test against Environmental Charter (Pittsburgh, PA). The Hawks come into the WPIAL 1A 2 test with a 1-5 record. In their last test, Environmental Charter was routed by Hillel Academy (Pittsburgh, PA), 51-40, in a non-league test.
