In Wednesday's non-league contest, the host Greenwood Bulldogs basketball team scored a close 43-38 triumph over the Gentry Rams.

The Bulldogs (9-8) will now prepare for their contest against Humphreys County (Belzoni, MS). The Cowboys go into the non-league contest with a 7-5 record. In their last contest, Humphreys County nipped Simmons (Hollandale, MS), 73-63, in a non-league contest.

In their next game, the Rams battle the Canton Tigers (Canton, MS) in a 5A Region 2 battle, on Friday, December 20. Gentry will attempt to advance on its 4-8 season record. The Tigers enter the battle with a 6-8 record after their 55-46 league loss to Holmes County Central (Lexington, MS).
