The crowd at Wednesday's league challenge between the Port Allegany Gators (Port Allegany, PA) and the host Northern Potter Panthers (Ulysses, PA), observed Port Allegany's basketball team overcome Northern Potter by a margin of 51-33.

The Gators (4-2) will now prepare for their challenge against Oswayo Valley (Shinglehouse, PA). The Green Wave come into the North Tier challenge with a 1-4 record. In their last challenge, Oswayo Valley dropped by Coudersport (Coudersport, PA), 68-49, in a league challenge.

In their next game, the Panthers encounter the Cowanesque Valley Indians (Westfield, PA) in a non-league test, on Saturday, December 21. Northern Potter will attempt to improve on its 3-3 season record. The Indians come into the test with a 0-3 record after their 67-56 league loss to Athens (Athens, PA).
