In Wednesday's league contest, the visiting Hilo Vikings basketball team scored a close 28-24 win over the Kea'au Cougars.

The Vikings (3-5) will now prepare for their contest against Kealakehe (Kailua-Kona, HI). The Waveriders come into the Big Island contest with a 0-4 record. In their last contest, Kealakehe was tipped by Ka'u (Pahala, HI), 70-17, in a league contest.

In their next game, the Cougars battle the Parker Bulls (Kamuela, HI) in a non-league contest, on Saturday, December 21. Kea'au will attempt to better on its 1-5 season record. The Bulls come into the contest with a 0-4 record after their 53-39 non-league loss to Honoka'a (Honoka'a, HI).
