    The crowd at Thursday's non-league challenge between the McDowell Titans (Marion, NC) and the visiting Asheville Cougars (Asheville, NC), observed McDowell's basketball team overwhelm Asheville by a score of 69-36.

    The Titans (7-3) will now prepare for their challenge against Mountain Heritage (Burnsville, NC). The Cougars come into the non-league challenge with a 3-3 record. In their last battle, Mountain Heritage walloped Polk County (Columbus, NC), 67-54, in a league battle.

    The Cougars now own a 1-7 record. They put it on the line next when they host Varsity Opponent for a non-league battle on Saturday, December 27.
