Virginia High School Basketball - Bartlett Yancey held off by Halifax County

In Thursday's non-league test, the Halifax County Comets (South Boston, VA) basketball squad got by the visiting Bartlett Yancey Buccaneers (Yanceyville, NC), by a score of 57-52.

Coming up next, the Comets play the Dan River Wildcats (Ringgold, VA) in a non-league bout, on Friday, December 19. Halifax County will attempt to move on its 4-3 season record. The Wildcats go into the bout with a 4-2 record after their 68-54 non-league win over Magna Vista (Ridgeway, VA).

With the loss, Bartlett Yancey falls to 4-4 on the campaign. The Buccaneers travel to Morehead (Eden, NC) to play the Panthers in a Mid-State 3A/4A/5A bout on Friday, December 19. The Panthers go into the bout with a record of 0-7. Morehead lost 88-71 in their recent non-league bout against Martinsville (Martinsville, VA)
