The Verona Hillbillies basketball team scored 49 points and limited the host Cedar Grove Panthers to 44 in the Hillbillies non-league triumph on Thursday.

The Hillbillies now possess a 1-1 record. They play next when they host Newark Vocational for a non-league game on Saturday, December 20. Verona will play a Eagles team coming off a 56-11 non-league win over Warren County Tech (Washington, NJ). The Eagles record now stands at 2-2.

With the loss, Cedar Grove falls to 0-2 on the campaign. The Panthers travel to Hopatcong (Hopatcong, NJ) to play the Chiefs in a non-league test on Saturday, December 20. The Chiefs come into the test with a record of 1-1. Hopatcong lost 71-60 in their recent non-league test against Wallkill Valley (Hamburg, NJ)
