Carroll County Cavaliers (Hillsville, VA) backers were pleased Monday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the host Blacksburg Bruins (Blacksburg, VA), 62-59 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Carroll County upgrades its record to 5-0 on the campaign. The Cavaliers travel to Galax (Galax, VA) to play the Maroon Tide in a non-league bout on Wednesday, December 21. The Maroon Tide come into the bout with a record of 0-5. Galax lost 72-28 in their recent league bout against George Wythe (Wytheville, VA)

Next up, the Bruins play the Lord Botetourt Cavaliers (Daleville, VA) in a non-league bout, on Wednesday, December 21. Blacksburg will attempt to upgrade on its 1-6 season record. The Cavaliers come into the bout with a 4-1 record after their 74-69 non-league win over Fluvanna County (Palmyra, VA).
