Stevens Cardinals (Claremont, NH) backers were in high spirits Monday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting Newport Tigers (Newport, NH), 48-44 in a league bout.

With the win, Stevens upgrades its record to 1-1 on the season. The Cardinals travel to Gilford (Gilford, NH) to play the Golden Eagles in a Division III bout on Thursday, December 22. The Golden Eagles go into the bout with a record of 4-1. Gilford won 76-38 in their recent league bout against Inter-Lakes (Meredith, NH)

Next up, the Tigers play the Fall Mountain Wildcats (Langdon, NH) in a Division III bout, on Thursday, December 22. Newport will attempt to upgrade on its 0-1 season record.
