The Vernon Vikings basketball team scored 53 points and held the visiting Belvidere County Seaters to 45 in the Vikings non-league triumph on Monday.
The Vikings now sport a 1-0 record. They put it on the line next when they host Newton for a non-league contest on Wednesday, December 21. Vernon will battle a Braves team coming off a 35-28 league win over North Warren Regional (Blairstown, NJ). The Braves record now stands at 1-0.
The County Seaters (0-2) will now prepare for their contest against Prairie Ridge (Crystal Lake, IL). The Wolves enter the non-league contest with a 8-5 record. In their last contest, Prairie Ridge ran past Richmond-Burton (Richmond, IL), 49-10, in a non-league contest.
