Mercedes Tigers (Mercedes, TX) backers were pleased Tuesday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting Donna Redskins (Donna, TX), 53-52 in a league bout.

With the victory, Mercedes upgrades its record to 4-10 on the campaign. The Tigers travel to Weslaco East (Weslaco, TX) to play the Wildcats in a 5A Region IV District 32 bout on Friday, December 22. The Wildcats come into the bout with a record of 12-7. Weslaco East won 60-37 in their recent league bout against Veterans Memorial (Brownsville, TX)

Next up, the Redskins play the Pace Vikings (Brownsville, TX) in a 5A Region IV District 32 bout, on Friday, December 22. Donna will attempt to upgrade on its 7-11 season record.
