Illinois High School Basketball - Massac County holds off Herrin

December 19, 2023: Metropolis, IL 62960

Fans at Tuesday's league challenge between the Massac County Patriots (Metropolis, IL) and the visiting Herrin Tigers (Herrin, IL), saw Massac County's basketball squad hold off Herrin by a tally of 50-47.

With the victory, Massac County improves its record to 6-4 on the campaign. The Patriots host Paducah Tilghman (Paducah, KY) to confront the Blue Tornado in a non-league challenge on Friday, December 22. The Blue Tornado come into the challenge with a record of 5-2. Paducah Tilghman won 73-67 in their recent non-league challenge against Ballard Memorial (Barlow, KY)

Next up, the Tigers confront the Harrisburg Bulldogs (Harrisburg, IL) in a Southern Illinois River-to-River - Ohio challenge, on Friday, January 12. Herrin will attempt to improve on its 6-4 season record.
