Starkville Yellowjackets (Starkville, MS) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Murrah Mustangs (Jackson, MS), 58-50 in a league bout.

With the win, Starkville upgrades its record to 7-7 on the season. The Yellowjackets host Holmes County Central (Lexington, MS) to clash with the Jaguars in a non-league bout on Thursday, December 28. The Jaguars go into the bout with a record of 2-9.

Next up, the Mustangs clash with the Clarksdale Wildcats (Clarksdale, MS) in a non-league bout, on Wednesday, December 27. Murrah will attempt to upgrade on its 3-11 season record.
