The Denver City Mustangs (Denver City, TX) basketball crushed the visiting Friona Chieftans (Friona, TX), 60-35 in Tuesday's league test.

The Mustangs (8-8) will now prepare for their test against Muleshoe (Muleshoe, TX). The Mules go into the 3A Region I District 3 test with a 4-10 record. In their last test, Muleshoe walloped Friona (Friona, TX), 50-43, in a league test.

The Chieftans now own a 5-11 record. They play next when they host Dimmitt for a 3A Region I District 3 test on Tuesday, January 2. Friona will encounter a Bobcats squad coming off a 40-35 league win over Lamesa (Lamesa, TX). The Bobcats record now stands at 3-6.
