Hempfield Area Spartans (Greensburg, PA) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting North Hills Indians (Pittsburgh, PA), 52-39 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Hempfield Area upgrades its record to 5-1 on the season. The Spartans travel to Indiana (Indiana, PA) to play the Little Indians in a non-league bout on Thursday, December 21. The Little Indians go into the bout with a record of 5-1. Indiana won 40-21 in their recent league bout against Kiski Area (Vandergrift, PA)

In their next game, the Indians face the Shaler Area Titans (Pittsburgh, PA) in a WPIAL 5A 2 game, on Wednesday, January 3. North Hills will attempt to move on its 4-3 season record. The Titans enter the game with a 2-5 record after their 39-32 non-league loss to North Allegheny (Wexford, PA).
