West Bladen Knights (Bladenboro, NC) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting South Columbus Stallions (Tabor City, NC), 40-27 in a non-league bout.

With the win, West Bladen upgrades its record to 3-4 on the season. The Knights host West Columbus (Cerro Gordo, NC) to clash with the Vikings in a non-league bout on Tuesday, January 2. The Vikings go into the bout with a record of 0-2. West Columbus lost 56-25 in their recent non-league bout against Union (Rose Hill, NC)

Next up, the Stallions clash with the Pender Patriots (Burgaw, NC) in a 1A/2A Waccamaw bout, on Wednesday, January 3. South Columbus will attempt to upgrade on its 1-12 season record. The Patriots go into the bout with a 1-5 record after their 55-42 non-league loss to Seventy-First (Fayetteville, NC).
