Louisiana High School Basketball - Sumner topped by Varnado

The Varnado Wildcats basketball team scored 50 points and restricted the visiting Sumner Cowboys to 41 in the Wildcats non-league victory on Tuesday.
The Wildcats now sport a 2-2 record. They put it on the line next when they host Kenner Discovery Health Sciences Academy for a non-league contest on Friday, January 5. Varnado will battle a Swamp Owls team coming off a 40-35 non-league win over St. Charles Catholic (LaPlace, LA). The Swamp Owls record now stands at 4-8.
The Cowboys (2-13) will now prepare for their contest against Doyle (Livingston, LA). The Tigers come into the non-league contest with a 14-3 record. In their last contest, Doyle prevailed over Pine (Franklinton, LA), 56-52, in a non-league contest.
