In Thursday's non-league contest, the visiting Byron Tigers basketball team scored a close 63-62 win over the Genoa-Kingston Cogs.
The Tigers (5-2) will now prepare for their contest against Winnebago (Winnebago, IL). The Indians come into the non-league contest with a 4-4 record. In their last contest, Winnebago edged Lena-Winslow (Lena, IL), 57-47, in a non-league contest.
In their next game, the Cogs battle the Warren Warriors (Warren, IL) in a non-league contest, on Friday, December 20. Genoa-Kingston will attempt to better on its 5-6 season record. The Warriors come into the contest with a 8-1 record after their 48-43 non-league win over Polo (Polo, IL).
