In Thursday's non-league contest, the host Starks Panthers basketball team scored a good 60-51 triumph over the Grand Lake Hornets.

The Panthers (13-5) will now prepare for their contest against Singer (Singer, LA). The Hornets go into the C District 5 contest with a 7-7 record. In their last contest, Singer was toppled by DeQuincy (DeQuincy, LA), 65-52, in a non-league contest.

In their next game, the Hornets confront the Pickering Red Devils (Leesville, LA) in a non-league contest, on Monday, December 30. Grand Lake will attempt to better on its 6-5 season record. The Red Devils go into the contest with a 5-8 record after their 69-46 non-league loss to Hornbeck (Hornbeck, LA).
