Mississippi High School Basketball - Sylva Bay Academy triumphant over Newton County Academy

The crowd at Thursday's league challenge between the Sylva Bay Academy Saints (Bay Springs, MS) and the host Newton County Academy Generals (Decatur, MS), observed Sylva Bay Academy's basketball team overwhelm Newton County Academy by a score of 46-16.

The Saints (12-4) will now prepare for their challenge against Enterprise (Enterprise, MS). The Bulldogs come into the non-league challenge with a 8-7 record. In their last challenge, Enterprise trounced Stringer (Stringer, MS), 46-42, in a non-league challenge.

In their next game, the Generals encounter the Laurel Christian Lions (Laurel, MS) in a MAIS 3A District 3 challenge, on Friday, January 17. Newton County Academy will attempt to improve on its 1-2 season record.
