The Floodwood Polar Bears basketball team scored 58 points and limited the host McGregor Mercuries to 54 in the Polar Bears league triumph on Thursday.

The Polar Bears now possess a 6-1 record. They play next when they travel to Barnum for a non-league game on Saturday, December 28.

With the loss, McGregor falls to 5-3 on the campaign. The Mercuries travel to North Woods (Cook, MN) to confront the grizzlies in a A Section 7 game on Monday, December 30. The grizzlies go into the game with a record of 2-5. North Woods won 70-28 in their recent league game against Cook County (Grand Marais, MN)
