The crowd at Thursday's league challenge between the Grafton Clippers (Yorktown, VA) and the host New Kent Trojans (New Kent, VA), observed Grafton's basketball team overcome New Kent by a margin of 55-39.

The Clippers (5-0) will now prepare for their challenge against King's Fork (Suffolk, VA). The Bulldogs come into the non-league challenge with a 3-1 record. In their last challenge, King's Fork defeated Poly (Baltimore, MD), 57-32, in a non-league challenge.

In their next game, the Trojans battle the Jamestown Eagles (Williamsburg, VA) in a Bay Rivers challenge, on Tuesday, January 7. New Kent will attempt to better on its 2-5 season record. The Eagles come into the challenge with a 2-4 record after their 43-35 league loss to Warhill (Williamsburg, VA).
