The Hammond Tornadoes basketball team scored 53 points and limited the host Sumner Cowboys to 32 in the Tornadoes non-league triumph on Thursday.

The Tornadoes now have a 4-8 record. They play next when they travel to Ponchatoula for a 5A District 6 game on Friday, December 20.

With the loss, Sumner falls to 4-5 on the campaign. The Cowboys host Kenner Discovery Health Sciences Academy (Kenner, LA) to confront the Swamp Owls in a non-league game on Friday, January 3. The Swamp Owls go into the game with a record of 4-9. Kenner Discovery Health Sciences Academy lost 49-30 in their recent non-league game against Archbishop Hannan (Covington, LA)
