The Perry Panthers basketball team scored 65 points and limited the host Rutland Hurricanes to 28 in the Panthers non-league triumph on Thursday.

The Panthers now possess a 8-1 record. They play next when they travel to Houston County for a non-league game on Saturday, December 28. Perry will confront a Bears team coming off a 44-31 non-league win over West Laurens (Dexter, GA). The Bears record now stands at 5-8.

With the loss, Rutland falls to 1-7 on the campaign. The Hurricanes travel to Jackson (Jackson, GA) to confront the Red Devils in a AA Region 2 game on Friday, January 3. The Red Devils go into the game with a record of 3-9. Jackson lost 62-26 in their recent non-league game against Academy for Classical Education (Macon, GA)
