Marion Wildcats (Marion, IL) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Althoff Catholic Crusaders (Belleville, IL), 62-42 in a league bout.

With the win, Marion upgrades its record to 2-3 on the season. The Wildcats host Poplar Bluff (Poplar Bluff, MO) to play the Mules in a non-league bout on Saturday, December 3. The Mules go into the bout with a record of 0-0.

Next up, the Crusaders play the Mater Dei Knights (Breese, IL) in a non-league bout, on Tuesday, December 6. Althoff Catholic will attempt to upgrade on its 3-3 season record. The Knights go into the bout with a 3-0 record after their 68-37 non-league win over Marquette Catholic (Alton, IL).
