The Axtell Eagles basketball team scored 61 points and held the host Doniphan West Mustangs to 29 in the Eagles non-league triumph on Friday.

The Eagles now sport a 1-0 record. They put it on the line next when they host Flint Hills Christian for a non-league contest on Tuesday, December 6. Axtell will battle a Warriors team coming off a 48-38 non-league loss to Tyro Christian (Tyro, KS). The Warriors record now stands at 2-2.

The Mustangs (0-1) will now prepare for their contest against Riverside [Wathena/Elwood] (Wathena, KS). The Cyclones enter the non-league contest with a 0-1 record. In their last contest, Riverside [Wathena/Elwood] was routed by Troy (Troy, KS), 54-47, in a non-league contest.
