The Zuni Thunderbirds basketball team scored 62 points and held the visiting Wingate Bears to 24 in the Thunderbirds non-league triumph on Friday.
The Thunderbirds now sport a 1-1 record. They put it on the line next when they host Grants for a non-league contest on Saturday, December 3. Zuni will battle a Pirates team coming off a 43-37 non-league win over Tohatchi (Tohatchi, NM). The Pirates record now stands at 1-3.
The Bears (0-2) will now prepare for their contest against Tohatchi (Tohatchi, NM). The Cougars enter the non-league contest with a 1-2 record. In their last contest, Tohatchi was routed by Grants (Grants, NM), 43-37, in a non-league contest.
