Doniphan West Mustangs (Highland, KS) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad bounce the visiting Axtell Eagles (Axtell, KS), 49-26 in a league bout.

With the win, Doniphan West upgrades its record to 1-0 on the season. The Mustangs travel to Riverside [Wathena/Elwood] (Wathena, KS) to play the Cyclones in a non-league bout on Tuesday, December 6. The Cyclones go into the bout with a record of 1-0. Riverside [Wathena/Elwood] won 52-46 in their recent non-league bout against Troy (Troy, KS)

Next up, the Eagles play the Flint Hills Christian Warriors (Manhattan, KS) in a non-league bout, on Tuesday, December 6. Axtell will attempt to upgrade on its 0-1 season record. The Warriors go into the bout with a 4-0 record after their 34-28 non-league win over Heartland Christian (Colby, KS).
