Northwestern Tigers (Maple, WI) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Ladysmith Lumberjacks (Ladysmith, WI), 40-29 in a league bout.

With the win, Northwestern upgrades its record to 1-0 on the season. The Tigers host Amery (Amery, WI) to clash with the Warriors in a non-league bout on Saturday, December 10. The Warriors go into the bout with a record of 2-1.

Next up, the Lumberjacks clash with the Spooner Rails (Spooner, WI) in a Heart O'North bout, on Thursday, December 8. Ladysmith will attempt to upgrade on its 1-2 season record. The Rails go into the bout with a 0-1 record after their 66-21 league loss to Hayward (Hayward, WI).
