East Wilkes Cardinals (Ronda, NC) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad bounce the visiting Wilkes Central Eagles (Wilkesboro, NC), 42-7 in a non-league bout.

With the win, East Wilkes upgrades its record to 2-0 on the season. The Cardinals host North Wilkes (Hays, NC) to play the Vikings in a non-league bout on Tuesday, December 6. The Vikings go into the bout with a record of 1-0. North Wilkes won 42-31 in their recent non-league bout against Starmount (Boonville, NC)

Next up, the Eagles play the Ashe County Huskies (West Jefferson, NC) in a non-league bout, on Tuesday, December 6. Wilkes Central will attempt to upgrade on its 2-1 season record. The Huskies go into the bout with a 2-3 record after their 39-27 non-league win over West Wilkes (Millers Creek, NC).
