Drew Central Pirates (Monticello, AR) backers were pleased Saturday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting Star City Bulldogs (Star City, AR), 61-55 in a non-league bout.
With the victory, Drew Central upgrades its record to 5-2 on the campaign. The Pirates travel to Smackover (Smackover, AR) to play the Buckaroos in a 3A Region 8 bout on Tuesday, December 5. The Buckaroos come into the bout with a record of 2-4. Smackover won 81-64 in their recent non-league bout against Bearden (Bearden, AR)
Next up, the Bulldogs play the Dermott Rams (Dermott, AR) in a non-league bout, on Thursday, December 7. Star City will attempt to upgrade on its 2-2 season record.
