Pine Island Panthers (Pine Island, MN) backers were in high spirits Saturday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Waseca Bluejays (Waseca, MN), 58-46 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Pine Island upgrades its record to 1-0 on the season. The Panthers travel to Dover-Eyota (Eyota, MN) to play the Eagles in a AA Section 1 bout on Monday, December 4. The Eagles go into the bout with a record of 0-1. Dover-Eyota lost 62-55 in their recent non-league bout against Goodhue (Goodhue, MN)

Next up, the Bluejays play the Tri-City United [Montgomery-Lonsdale/Le Center] Titans (Montgomery, MN) in a AA Section 2 bout, on Tuesday, December 5. Waseca will attempt to upgrade on its 0-1 season record. The Titans go into the bout with a 0-2 record after their 64-60 non-league loss to Windom (Windom, MN).
