Sparta Spartans (Sparta, WI) backers were in high spirits Saturday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting Baraboo Thunderbirds (Baraboo, WI), 54-48 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Sparta upgrades its record to 2-3 on the season. The Spartans travel to La Crosse Central (La Crosse, WI) to play the Riverhawks in a Mississippi Valley bout on Tuesday, December 5. The Riverhawks go into the bout with a record of 1-4. La Crosse Central lost 59-47 in their recent non-league bout against Marshfield (Marshfield, WI)

Next up, the Thunderbirds play the Reedsburg Beavers (Reedsburg, WI) in a Badger - West bout, on Tuesday, December 5. Baraboo will attempt to upgrade on its 1-4 season record. The Beavers go into the bout with a 3-1 record after their 54-34 league loss to Edgewood (Madison, WI).
