Sparta Bulldogs (Sparta, IL) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Chester Yellowjackets (Chester, IL), 58-40 in a league bout.

With the win, Sparta upgrades its record to 8-1 on the season. The Bulldogs travel to Zeigler-Royalton (Zeigler, IL) to clash with the Tornadoes in a non-league bout on Tuesday, December 27. The Tornadoes go into the bout with a record of 1-5.

Next up, the Yellowjackets clash with the Wesclin Warriors (Trenton, IL) in a Cahokia - Illinois bout, on Friday, January 6. Chester will attempt to upgrade on its 3-5 season record.
