Madison Trojans (Madison, IL) backers were pleased Tuesday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting Granite City Warriors (Granite City, IL), 42-40 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Madison upgrades its record to 7-4 on the campaign. The Trojans travel to New Berlin (New Berlin, IL) to play the Pretzels in a non-league bout on Wednesday, December 21. The Pretzels come into the bout with a record of 8-1. New Berlin lost 52-27 in their recent non-league bout against Pinckneyville (Pinckneyville, IL)

Next up, the Warriors play the Belleville East Lancers (Belleville, IL) in a non-league bout, on Thursday, December 22. Granite City will attempt to upgrade on its 5-6 season record. The Lancers come into the bout with a 10-0 record after their 78-50 non-league win over Althoff Catholic (Belleville, IL).
