Pioneer Diamondbacks (Mission, TX) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting McAllen Memorial Mustangs (McAllen, TX), 47-44 in a league bout.

With the win, Pioneer upgrades its record to 12-10 on the season. The Diamondbacks host Pharr-San Juan-Alamo Memorial (Alamo, TX) to clash with the Wolverines in a 5A Region IV District 31 bout on Thursday, December 22. The Wolverines go into the bout with a record of 2-8. Pharr-San Juan-Alamo Memorial lost 53-40 in their recent league bout against McAllen (McAllen, TX)

Next up, the Mustangs clash with the Valley View Tigers (Pharr, TX) in a 5A Region IV District 31 bout, on Thursday, December 22. McAllen Memorial will attempt to upgrade on its 11-4 season record.
