Piedmont Community Charter Patriots (Gastonia, NC) backers were pleased Tuesday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting Sugar Creek Wildcats (Charlotte, NC), 58-53 in a league bout.

With the victory, Piedmont Community Charter upgrades its record to 7-5 on the campaign. The Patriots host Burns (Lawndale, NC) to play the Bulldogs in a non-league bout on Tuesday, December 27. The Bulldogs come into the bout with a record of 3-4. Burns won 67-53 in their recent league bout against Cherryville (Cherryville, NC)

Next up, the Wildcats play the Queen's Grant Stallions (Matthews, NC) in a 1A Conference 38 bout, on Friday, January 6. Sugar Creek will attempt to upgrade on its 3-5 season record. The Stallions come into the bout with a 7-4 record after their 67-51 non-league loss to Piedmont (Monroe, NC).
