Texas High School Basketball - Wharton nips Bellville

Fans at Tuesday's league challenge between the Wharton Tigers (Wharton, TX) and the visiting Bellville Brahmas (Bellville, TX), saw Wharton's basketball squad hold off Bellville by a count of 43-42.

With the victory, Wharton upgrades its record to 13-5 on the campaign. The Tigers travel to Navasota (Navasota, TX) to play the Rattlers in a 4A Region IV District 25 challenge on Saturday, December 31. The Rattlers come into the challenge with a record of 19-2.

Next up, the Brahmas play the El Campo Ricebirds (El Campo, TX) in a 4A Region IV District 25 challenge, on Friday, December 30. Bellville will attempt to upgrade on its 1-9 season record. The Ricebirds come into the challenge with a 6-5 record after their 65-32 non-league win over La Grange (La Grange, TX).
