The Jackson County Blue Devils basketball team scored 62 points and held the host Van Buren County Eagles to 61 in the Blue Devils non-league triumph on Wednesday.

The Blue Devils now sport a 12-3 record. They put it on the line next when they host Macon County for a non-league contest on Friday, January 5. Jackson County will meet a Tigers team coming off a 48-47 non-league loss to Tournament Opponent (, ). The Tigers record now stands at 9-4.

The Eagles (5-8) will now prepare for their contest against Bledsoe County (Pikeville, TN). The Warriors enter the non-league contest with a 2-6 record. In their last contest, Bledsoe County nudged Whitwell (Whitwell, TN), 40-27, in a non-league contest.
