The Walter Panas Panthers (Cortlandt Manor, NY) basketball knocked off the host Lakeland Hornets (Shrub Oak, NY), 62-44 in Wednesday's league test.
The Panthers (6-0) will now prepare for their test against Ursuline (New Rochelle, NY). The Koalas go into the non-league test with a 3-0 record. In their last test, Ursuline notched a victory over St. Mary's Ryken (Leonardtown, MD), 55-39, in a non-league test.
The Hornets now own a 0-1 record. They put it on the line next when they host Hendrick Hudson for a Section 1 Conference 2C contest on Wednesday, January 3. Lakeland will battle a Sailors team coming off a 75-54 non-league loss to Pearl River (Pearl River, NY). The Sailors record now stands at 5-2.
