The Montello Hilltoppers basketball team scored 69 points and limited the host Rio Vikings to 53 in the Hilltoppers league triumph on Friday.

The Hilltoppers now have a 2-4 record. They play next when they host Marion for a non-league game on Friday, December 27. Montello will confront a Mustangs team coming off a 71-36 league win over Northland Lutheran (Mosinee, WI). The Mustangs record now stands at 1-5.

With the loss, Rio falls to 0-6 on the campaign. The Vikings host Palmyra-Eagle (Palmyra, WI) to confront the Panthers in a non-league game on Friday, January 3. The Panthers go into the game with a record of 6-0. Palmyra-Eagle won 47-34 in their recent non-league game against Faith Christian (Coleman, WI)
