The Lamar Vikings (Arlington, TX) basketball edged the host Martin Warriors (Arlington, TX), 36-33 in Friday's league bout.

The Vikings now possess a 11-8 record. They put it on the line next when they host Haltom for a 6A Region I District 8 test on Tuesday, December 31. Lamar will clash with a Buffalos squad coming off a 36-29 league win over Arlington (Arlington, TX). The Buffalos record now stands at 5-10.

The Warriors (5-11) will now prepare for their test against Saginaw (Saginaw, TX). The Rough Riders come into the non-league test with a 10-8 record. In their last test, Saginaw was nipped by Azle (Azle, TX), 30-29, in a league test.
