The Lufkin Panthers basketball team scored 52 points and limited the visiting Texas Tigers to 49 in the Panthers league triumph on Friday.

The Panthers now have a 11-6 record. They play next when they travel to A&M Consolidated for a non-league game on Thursday, December 26. Lufkin will confront a Tigers team coming off a 29-28 league loss to College Station (College Station, TX). The Tigers record now stands at 9-8.

With the loss, Texas falls to 3-5 on the campaign. The Tigers host Whitehouse (Whitehouse, TX) to confront the Wildcats in a 5A Region II District 10 game on Tuesday, December 31. The Wildcats go into the game with a record of 7-7.
