Milledgeville Missiles (Milledgeville, IL) backers were pleased Wednesday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the host Eastland Cougars (Lanark, IL), 55-54 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Milledgeville upgrades its record to 5-7 on the campaign. The Missiles host Forreston (Forreston, IL) to play the Cardinals in a Northwest Upstate Illini - South bout on Tuesday, January 3. The Cardinals come into the bout with a record of 3-6.

Next up, the Cougars play the Galena Pirates (Galena, IL) in a non-league bout, on Friday, December 30. Eastland will attempt to upgrade on its 3-4 season record.
