Fans at Wednesday's non-league challenge between the Giles Spartans (Pearisburg, VA) and the visiting Fort Chiswell Pioneers (Max Meadows, VA), saw Giles's basketball squad wallop Fort Chiswell by a tally of 48-26.

With the victory, Giles upgrades its record to 2-0 on the campaign. The Spartans travel to Bland County (Rocky Gap, VA) to play the Bears in a non-league bout on Wednesday, December 28. The Bears come into the bout with a record of 6-1. Bland County won 56-42 in their recent non-league bout against Narrows (Narrows, VA)

Next up, the Pioneers play the Auburn Eagles (Riner, VA) in a non-league bout, on Tuesday, January 3. Fort Chiswell will attempt to upgrade on its 4-1 season record.
