Arkport Central Bluejays (Arkport, NY) backers were pleased Thursday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the host Avoca Central Tigers (Avoca, NY), 68-67 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Arkport Central upgrades its record to 4-1 on the campaign. The Bluejays travel to Perry (Perry, NY) to play the Yellowjackets in a non-league bout on Saturday, December 30. The Yellowjackets come into the bout with a record of 0-5. Perry lost 44-24 in their recent league bout against Caledonia-Mumford (Caledonia, NY)

Coming up next, the Tigers confront the Wayland-Cohocton Eagles (Wayland, NY) in a non-league battle, on Friday, December 29. Avoca Central will attempt to improve on its 1-2 season record. The Eagles come into the battle with a 1-7 record after their 64-40 league loss to Haverling (Bath, NY).
