Westlake Rams (Westlake, LA) backers were pleased Thursday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the host Hathaway Hornets (Jennings, LA), 60-54 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Westlake upgrades its record to 9-3 on the campaign. The Rams host St. Louis Catholic (Lake Charles, LA) to play the Saints in a 3A District 3 bout on Friday, January 5. The Saints come into the bout with a record of 6-4.

Next up, the Hornets play the Grand Lake Hornets (Lake Charles, LA) in a non-league bout, on Thursday, December 21. Hathaway will attempt to upgrade on its 6-17 season record. The Hornets come into the bout with a 4-6 record after their 52-51 non-league loss to East Beauregard (DeRidder, LA).
