The New Providence Pioneers basketball team scored 42 points and held the visiting Johnson Crusaders to 38 in the Pioneers league triumph on Thursday.

The Pioneers now sport a 3-1 record. They put it on the line next when they host Cranford for a non-league contest on Tuesday, December 26. New Providence will meet a Cougars team coming off a 68-57 non-league win over South Plainfield (South Plainfield, NJ). The Cougars record now stands at 2-2.

The Crusaders (1-2) will now prepare for their game against Manville (Manville, NJ). The Mustangs enter the non-league game with a 2-0 record. In their last game, Manville tipped Belvidere (Belvidere, NJ), 70-40, in a league game.
