Somerville Highlanders (Somerville, MA) backers were pleased Thursday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the host Medford Mustangs (Medford, MA), 32-25 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Somerville upgrades its record to 2-1 on the campaign. The Highlanders host Lynn Classical (Lynn, MA) to play the Rams in a non-league bout on Thursday, January 4. The Rams come into the bout with a record of 1-0.

Next up, the Mustangs play the Chelsea Red Devils (Chelsea, MA) in a non-league bout, on Tuesday, January 2. Medford will attempt to upgrade on its 0-2 season record.
