Floodwood Polar Bears (Floodwood, MN) backers were in high spirits Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad bounce the visiting Kelley Mariners (Silver Bay, MN), 79-50 in a league bout.

With the win, Floodwood upgrades its record to 4-1 on the season. The Polar Bears travel to Ely (Ely, MN) to play the Timberwolves in a non-league bout on Wednesday, December 27. The Timberwolves go into the bout with a record of 5-3. Ely lost 50-46 in their recent non-league bout against South Ridge (Culver, MN)

Next up, the Mariners play the Cook County Vikings (Grand Marais, MN) in a A Section 7 bout, on Tuesday, January 2. Kelley will attempt to upgrade on its 0-8 season record.
